Jennifer Pryor was sentenced to 14 years in prison and five years post-release supervision Rochester for killing the husband who repeatedly abused her.
She was convicted March 31 of first-degree manslaughter in the stabbing of her her husband, Roger Pryor Jr., in March 2016. The Buffalo couple had come to Rochester for a concert, and ended up in a dispute at a Wendy's after Roger Pryor, who was legally intoxicated and unlicensed, backed their Jeep into another vehicle at the fast food restaurant. That prompted a police call, and a confrontation at the restaurant between the couple.
Shortly thereafter, the fatal confrontation happened on East Main Street, when Jennifer Pryor was driving the Jeep. Jennifer Pryor had been abused by her husband, dating back to 2012. She had once gone to a battered woman's operation in Buffalo, and also once secured an order of protection.
Roger Pryor's record includes several instances of domestic violence arrests, against both Jennifer Pryor and a former girlfriend, who also once took out an order of protection against him.
